For many years, the heart of Ashtabula County's economy has been in manufacturing and industrial businesses.  Being located between  Cleveland, Youngstown/Pittsburgh, and Erie has led to the growth of many businesses.  The prime location right on Lake Erie has only added to the possibilities for Ashtabula County.
